It's been another fun week with Sister Mitchell. Lots of laughs, a few akward moments, just the usual. Especially this week we have been playing the role of spiritual therapy. If you are stressed, have some deep dark sin, or just feel sad,we have a prescription for you. Book of Mormon reading applied once daily, prayer applied multiple times, often as needed, and if symptoms persist, and they will, the doctor(bishop) is available at the church from 9 to 12 each and every Sunday. This is our official prescription proven by time and trial, and is available for only $0. Limited time offer, so don't wait. God is standing by. Available, just a prayer away. Pray Now!!!!
It's funny how often we repeat that to all of our less actives, recent converts, investigators, and long time members. If I had a nickle for every time that church leaders have said that to me, I would be a trillionaire. It truly does work every time, but it's something so little. Often we are like Namon. He had leprosy, and searched far and wide to find a cure to his disease. When he couldn't find a cure any other way, he asked advice from Isaiah, and was basically shrugged off. He received a note telling him to go bathe in the Jordan River seven times, and he would be healed. Instead of being joyful that it was so simple, he was offended that Isaiah didn't meet with him. One humble servant told him, if you were asked to do some great deed, wouldn't you do it? Even if it is simple, aren't you willing to try? Then he bathed in the filthy water of the Jordan River, and he was healed. The Lord works in mysterious ways, but always by the simple are the greatest miracles brought to pass.
We have been teaching us this awesome investigator named John. He is my favorite so far in my mission. He is just so humble. The lessons with him are just preach my gospel video worthy. Last week he told us that he has been lost, but the gospel has brought clarity in his life, and he asked us it's true isn't it? We were both like giddy little girls, but honestly we have been waiting my whole life for someone to ask this question. YES! The church is true. This week we had a discussion about the Book of Mormon, and he asked us the same question. He knows that it is true. Sometimes I wonder if I wasn't born in the church, would I have the same amount of faith?
I love being a missionary, seeing the daily miracles in the work. This is his true church on the earth, and the only cure for every ailment. Love and miss you all,
P.S. These pictures are of the 90's style dresses we found in the apartment, and we had a family home evening with one of the members.
