Welcome to the city!
It's been a big change from Kalibo, but it's been a blast. Everywhere we go we hear a couple of things " hey joe", "hello ladies", "hello, my friends", cano(American), and the weirdest this week "hello George". I don't know where George came from, but whatever.
It's been hilarous to see all the people here almost pop their eyes out with two white people in the city. As soon as we talk to them in Ilonggo, it's like we ruined their fun. The best is when we hear people tell their friends, hey, they know Ilonggo. Yeah we do! (mostly)
Yesterday we were tracting in Veterans, on our way to an appointment. We met a group of friends, and they attempted English, asking, "what want you with arnell". So funny.
The work is going great. We have found many new investigators, and they have accepted the baptismal dates. A lot of of our investigators I wonder why Heavenly Father has trusted us with such great people. Two 19 year old kids, and we have people who are so ready for gospel. I truly know that God has prepared people for us, though weak and not fluent in the language yet.
The ward members, and our investigators are so dedicated! The last couple of days there has been a typhoon in Manila, and it has rained really hard here. In spite of the wind and the rain, over 93 members came to church, including one of our investigators we haven't been able to teach for a couple of weeks.
I love this work the people here in the Philippines. I can't wait to see the results of our work. If not in this life, then in the life to come.
