So a lot of things have happened this week. So the week started out normal, preaching the gospel, finding those to teach. But on Wednesday, it all changed.
You know that in old testament times Job had boils all over his body? I always though that boils were a thing of the past, but I was wrong. I developed a boil ... At first I though it was just a regular mosquito bite, but then it got bigger, and more painful to even sit on the trikes and bamboo benches. This week, it got infected. Thankfully my companion is a nurse, so she was able to start the (treatment) process, and put some gauze on it.
The next morning I take the gauze off to take a shower, and it was so painful. Next thing I know I'm on the floor of the bathroom, and I have no strength at all. I was able to open the door, and I fainted, but thankfully one of the other sisters caught me. I just had a cut on my eye from where I fell, and a fever.
We went to the doctors office and I got an X-ray for the fall (no broken bones) , but she told me that I needed to go to the hospital to stop the infection. Basically I just sat in the hospital for 3 days, waiting for (the boil) to heal. The good news was even though I couldn't have you with me, I had my other family here: the other sister missionaries. They provided food and comfort. Going to the hospital in the Philippines makes me realize how blessed we really are in America to have separate facilities, and enough people to man them. In the Philippines, they do a lot of things that in America that machines do. I really am blessed to live in a place of freedom and modern health care.
It seems like a Bibo curse to get sick in the first part of our mission, right dad? Basically I just have to take antibiotics, and it's healing nicely. So unfortunately, no pictures this week. It's been rough, but we are never alone, and the Lord is with us.
Anyway, enough of that dismal stuff. We went to Jiwag falls in our area, it is so pretty. Lots of waterfalls, and mountainous areas. I will send the pictures next week, sorry it's on another person's camera.
Love you and Miss you,
